Leave A Review

In a world where businesses live and die by their reviews, if you have a good experience with a vendor, take 2 minutes and write a quick 2-4 sentence review on Google or Wedding Wire. Help other couples find the perfect vendor so that they too can have an amazing day.

Please leave us a review and include a photo

Get Your Wedding Certificate

We wish the process for getting your Wedding Certificate didn't take so long. Your Wedding Officiant has up to 5 days to mail off your Wedding License after your ceremony.

In New York, the clerk's office will automatically mail your Wedding Certificate via USPS within 3 weeks to your home. In New Jersey, you must request your certificate from your town's Department of Vital Statistics. We would suggest doing this 1 week after your Wedding License arrives.

We would suggest requesting several certified copies of your Wedding Certificates. This will save you time when you need to verify your marriage with the Social Security Office, Lenders, etc.

Name Changes

Legally, you don't have to change your name. However, if you want to change your name, you will have to first begin with the Social Security Office.  You can either apply for a new Social Security card by mail or in person at your local Social Security office.

Find your nearest location here. If you plan on going to the Social Security office in person, save time by filling out the application for a social security card in advance. You will also need to bring the following documents:

  • Proof of citizenship: Your passport or birth certificate.
  • A certified copy of your marriage license.
  • Proof of identity: A valid driver's license, your valid passport, or a valid state-issued identification card
  • Your current Social Security card. You will keep the same number when your card is replaced.

Don't Forget...

After you've gone to the Social Security office, wait at least 48 hours before going to the DMV. You do not need to have your new Social Security card in hand to update your driver's license, but the 48-hour window will allow enough time for the system to update with your new name. We would suggest waiting until you receive your social security card to ensure everything is accurate before going to do the DMV.

Updating your driver's license with a new name must be done in person. Most states consider this change a part of the license renewal process, so you will need to take a new photograph as well as pay the renewal fee. Visit your state's DMV website to print the renewal application form

Changing your name on your passport is considered a correction. If your passport was issued less than a year ago, you'll be able to have the correction made without paying a fee. However, if you've had your current passport for a year or more, the fee for a change and a new passport book is $110 (plus an expedite fee if you're in a rush to get on your honeymoon). All passport changes must be applied for

by mail. The U.S. Department of State has put together a convenient tool that will help you fill out the change form,

 which can be found here.

Other Things To Consider...

Now that you are married, you should update a couple of things:

  • Your Social Media Profile
  • Bank Accounts
  • Investment Accounts
  • Health, Auto & Life Insurance Policies
  • Credit Cards
  • Emergency Contact
  • Work Related Information (changing your martial status impacts your taxes and how much you get each week from your employer)
  • Utility Bills
  • Medical Records
  • Legal Documents such as Wills
